Important Informations about VIVO devices with MediaTek chipsets
VIVO Fused and Patched BootROM again with new security patch (01.08.2022)
- Even (MT6765 & MT6771 & MT6785) SoCs were affected by the custom vendor fixes.
- The OTA update just received 2 days ago.
- Our previous META Utility tool update was prepared a week ago (so please Do NOT try to enter BRom mode if the security is (01.08.2022) or newer, you can check the security patch using our tool (MTK META Utility) with (VIVO New Sec ReadInfo) button to ensure the device updated to the latest security patch or not.
* The security patch changes :
- BRom is completely disabled by fusing.
- Hardware test point is blocked.
- META Mode Locked Down as well.
- AT handler is patched and now it requires authorization.
- Preloader op-code completely changed to fuse the CPU.
- If you (Erased/Modified) the preloader, the device will not be recognized by PC, and you can’t fix it via USB you have to use (JTAG/ISP) and write BOOT1 area in order to get your device working again.
- Currently confirmed only one device with MT6765 and (DEMO mode) enabled, but the patch seems to be generic.
- Preloader mode is still safe to work with, unless it you played around BOOT region’s.
- Means the safest way to deal with VIVO devices now is to use TFM Tool,Cm2,Umt in preloader mode and not try to enable BRom port.
